1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the "Stock Scope" application ("App") provided by Scope Lab ("we", "us", "our"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Service Description

The App provides:

  1. US stock portfolio management and visualization
  2. Stock price and exchange rate data display

3. Relationship with Third-Party Services

  1. The App uses Marketstack API for stock data and Frankfurter API for exchange rates. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these service providers.
  2. The terms of service and privacy policies of these third-party services are governed by their respective providers.

4. Disclaimer

  1. The information provided by this App does not constitute investment advice, solicitation, or a recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument. This App is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner.
  2. Stock price and exchange rate data are sourced from third-party APIs (Marketstack, Frankfurter, etc.) and we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of such data. Data may be delayed, inaccurate, or incomplete.
  3. We are not liable for any investment losses arising from the use of this App.
  4. Users are solely responsible for their own investment decisions.
  5. We are not liable for any interruption, suspension, or data loss related to the App's operation.

5. Pricing

  1. The App is currently provided free of charge. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
  2. If paid plans are introduced in the future, we will notify you in advance through the App and by amending these Terms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7. Limitation of Liability

  1. Our total liability is limited to direct damages only. We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including lost profits or data loss.
  2. Our aggregate liability for all claims shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100), whichever is greater. Because the App is currently offered free of charge, the cap effectively defaults to USD $100.

8. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a material breach of user personal data, we will notify affected users within 30 days of becoming aware of the breach, via email or in-app notification.

9. Prohibited Activities

Users shall not:

  1. Decompile, reverse-engineer, or disassemble the App
  2. Misuse or excessively access the APIs
  3. Use the App for illegal activities
  4. Engage in activities that harm other users

10. Service Changes and Termination

We may modify or discontinue the App when necessary. We will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice within the App for significant changes.

11. Changes to Terms

  1. We may update these Terms.
  2. When we make changes, we will notify you of the changes and the effective date within the App in advance.
  3. Updated Terms become effective on the stated effective date.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
